Logistics for eCommerce: increasingly smart couriers

The growth trend for the logistics sector in Italy is positive , with signs of development both for the eCommerce sector and for the entire shipping network.

In this context, the role of the express courier emerges , a figure of significant contribution for small and medium-sized enterprises, capable today of offering increasingly faster and more flexible services and shipments.

Precisely in this regard, it is interesting to analyse the case of GLS Italy, express courier that launches the “same days” in the area of Milano, a service that ensures the ordered goods are delivered the same evening by 12 noon. In this way, standard shipments increase their quality, guaranteeing short delivery times.

The same fortunate picture is seen in the logistics real estate market , which is constantly recovering and is registering a greater demand for logistics spaces for the storage and movement of goods.

Ad increase, however, it is not only the question, but also the canons of lease prime locations such as the cities of Milano e Rome.

In these two top locations, in fact, the rent for a new property reaches a maximum of € 55 /m2/year , the highest value recorded in all of Italy.

" The current scenario is certainly more stimulating and positive than in previous years, " says Neda Aghabegloo , Head of World Capital 's Research Department . " The negative effects of the economic crisis had severely impacted the logistics sector, both in Europe and in Italy. With the country's lower production, the shipping system also slowed down. Today, however, we are witnessing a general revival in logistics, particularly e-commerce."
